in slumbers redess

In slumbers redress approaches an image I cannot deny.
Dust shedding bedraggled souls shuffling along a misty street.
Passing my retiring form a sidling glance chills this heart.
Before now yesterday held hope, but tonight only fright.
Did this heart behold you in the waking world of the day before?
Does this image foretell of a new trek into frail fortresses of passion?
Coming feared not, dreaded, as I knew time would call me out.
Tears burning courses across Crimson flesh as yet it becomes another test.
Resting here at the feet of yesterday recalling anxieties amid hopes.
Still in the shadows between reality and fantasy watching you pass.
Feeling with tender feet along the floor in darkness seeking comfort.
Pounding heart filling ears till they ring as I struggle to uncover your meaning.
In slumbers redress approaches an image I cannot deny.
