Victory acknowledged

Fingers of one hand gently pull the pink knit cap from pale hairless head.
Still holding the cap in one hand these warm fingers reach across her tender head.
Tracing each slight dimple and rounded edge. Each movement raising goose bumps on the chilled scalp. Leaning over, lips pursed a long kiss holds to her brow. Then gently trails off across her chemotherapy ravaged head.
Pulling her close, replacing the cap while kissing each closed eyelid, both smile…..she speaks,”ok, what do you want?”
“Just you my love, just you my love.”
Wrapped in each other’s arms and love as the saunter off to their nights reward.
Cancers battle, never ends.
But your victories should each be acknowledged as the occur.
