Leather bound feet

Leather bound feet pound out frustration on ancient streets.
Chattering steel slams angrily into stones and window seals.
Gruff voices warily call on unseen forces carrying hope away.
Crashing, dashing flustered minds reeling from warriors crush.
Death between men here repeatedly brushes, then crushes.
Long and lonely cries peace’s desires as ageless demons mount septic pyres.
Mired men refuting justices call hold centuries hate then fall.
Fall to her damning embrace as children rise renewed with hate.
Leather clad feet climbed crimson stairs.
Here our souls he bared.
Accept his blood.
Offering no other.
His sacrifice.
Ours is covered.
