Denying Christ

Hearing your hearts denial, a souls tears begin…
Failure of a faith leader casts doubts steps within a souls decline…
Not one event but a lifetime of loss begins mistrust…
Untouched your faith, unfed peace fails to root and grow…
Not knowing a love greater than self, you refuse to see his face..
In the hurt you’ve come to know, stop now tonight and bask in the glow…
Not from lighted windows and chimes, but the songs and hope of children and men…
Sung to a world void of his news, your back to his birth you turn…
In the still that is this night, listen to his message, hearing his hurt, relieving your pain…
In a desert cold , warmth in a babies smile, born to die, to set you free…
Rest your denials on the past, keep your souls hearing clear, for this night free of fear…
Accept that for nothing more than your love, his son is here from above…
Your love is all he asks, accepting his life, in his love you will bask…
Like the child born this night, offered to a world in fear, a child so small and dear..
Christmas comes once a year, you who hold it dear, keeping it all year…
Deny not what you cannot see, listen, we tell you, his love is free…
I have his power felt, when hate, despair replaced hope, love swept it from my soul…
Darkness fled his light, having only said a prayer peace supplanted my despair…
On this night between the wrapping, trees and lights, see his offer of eternal life…
Merry is the Christ child born this night, as are those who share in his sight…
